Zusammenfassung:eng: The author of this dissertation tried to close a lacuna in the scientific exposition of the history of ascetism in the time between reformation and the 20th century. He studied the period from 1750-1850. Especially he investigated the moralists in Germany throughout this period of the enlightenment. One profiled author is the example showing the variety of themes, which are concentrated in one part of any ethics - written or taught - called 'Ascetic'. The background of moral ideas in this age is shown in the first chapter within a short presentation of the unfolding of ascetism before and after Christ. Then there's shown the work of Maurus von Schenkl, a German Benedictine, whose written moral is called 'Ethica christiana'; the fourth part of it is the 'Ascetic'. Thereby the author of the dissertation tried to bring many parallels of contemporary moralists of Schenkl. At the end of the dissertation a kind of history of effects after Schenkl's moral book is shown. This part of the work demonstrates Schenkl's relevance for todays theology of morals: such a reflection has to show not only the aim of human morals but the ways and remedies to this aim too.
