Zusammenfassung:eng: Since it was evident that the patrocinia were not spread arbitrary across the whole country, and that the selection of a particular patron was not a mere chance, the development in to the patrocinia as a special branch of historical science became obvious. All the more as the election of a particular patron was made in accordance with very clearly stipulated principles. This work devotes itself to worship of Saints in the early middle-ages of the diocese Salzburg. At those times the diocese of Salzburg reached in general from the district of Salzburg, the district of Chiem, the tirolean district of Intervalles to the lower-bavarian district of Isen. The first part of the work is devoted to a dissertation on all renowned patrocinium-researchers, their methods and their findings. Further more, the historical developments of the diocese Salzburg in the early-middle-ages and the reciprocal actions in view of the different patrocinia are discussed. A substantial part of this work has been concentrated to the portrayal of the local Saints of Salzburg, especially to the founder of the bishopric St. Rupert, and the spreading of the worship for him. The lives and works of the individual Saints and, the with it connected adoration, are subsequently examined.<br />In this way, with the help of the conclusions found in the patrocinia, was it possible to find the origin of early consecreted churches. This especially was necessary if a documentary nomination of those churches during this time is missing. Here the investigations are significantly supported through recent archaeological excavations, which are in progress in this area. Special consideration is given to the problems of patrocinium-changes and the reasons for the patrocinium-choice, also paying attention to the prevalent spirit of the time. Villages and churches existed, which as a consequence of the noble owners are not recorded in any document and which are not yet certified through archaeological excavations. Here with the help of the patrociniumpractices and historical events, which happened in this area, the attempt is made to provide the historical missing pieces, and to prove the existence of those unnamed villages and churches in the early-middle-ages. The work is supplemented with a patrocinium-index, a list of villages and towns, extensive literature and charts describing the spread of the patrocinia in the ancient diocese of Salzburg.
